The use of people’s body as a display medium in exchange for money has been a fairly common vision in the streets of London for almost two hundred years. One of the only work prospects for non-English speakers involves standing on a busy street while holding printed advertising at the end of a stick or wearing it on boards around their neck, a position known as human billboard).
Using the human body as a message display facility is a way of evading a tax on advertising by making it mobile, but also by using the humanity of the subject and its “freedom of speech” as a legal argument.

The flexibility of this casual form of communication, combined with the performative potential of togetherness, provided the right components to start thinking of a malleable letterform expressing an ephemeral message.

These pieces were designed by fashion designer Nicolas Ghesquiere. The combinatios of fabrics patched together in shapes, vibrant colors and nonetheless typography!According to millionlooks.com when creating the range Nicolas Ghesquière was inspired by things that are far from the fashion world. These include: cosmonauts and seventies Formica, packaging and food boxes, synthetic foam and plywood, sleeping bags and biscuits.

Magalie Coulombe-Noël, A graphic designer/fashion designer made this dress on the inspiration of ampersands. According to the artist,The particuliarité of this dress is in the realization of the matter textile, created in parrallèle with the development of the technical employer of the dress. the motives printed on the first matter was realized to obtain a continuous motive once the numerous pairs of pliers and cut assembled. An ingenious and extremely necessary precise work to obtain this result. One of the materials used was leather looking at the content and picture I couldn’t tell what other material the dress was made out. But you can tell it took plenty of time designing and dedication. It looks like a well made piece. I could definately see myself wanting to wear this dress to a party or such.

Discovering from a blog I had so happen to run upon were these awesome one of a kind pantyhose that I would love to sport. They are called punctuation pantyhose. Ringling of School Art and Design, Heidi Elizabeth Rodriguez, Graphic Designer created this beautiful paper dress. It looks like it was made out of a certain type of bridal packaging looking at the details of the dress with the print content still on it between the seams. Looking at her collection of works is very inspiring she has tapestries, paper ties, holiday cards and etc. It seems she has her “style” as you can say is his work looks more hands on than I guess you say computerized. Which brings its orginality and uniqueness.

Bringing Packaging to a whole new level for typography using the motto of the company DHL “The Perfect fit for the fashion world” they used there logo and packaging to create a masterpiece.There task was to create an international campaign that emphasises DHL’s competence in the fashion industry. To communicate (which is the job to all typographers) the close connection between DHL and the fashion world we turned fashion itself into the main advertising medium. In cooperation with Michael Michalsky – one of Germany‘s most famous designers – they created a special haute couture collection: dresses exclusively made of original DHL packaging materials
